How Do I Know if I Have a Case?

If you have been injured by the act of another person, or company, there is a good chance you have a right to be compensated.
Typical compensation covers your medical bills, rehabilitation bills, lost wages as a result of your injury, and in some cases, pain and suffering.
We recommend talking to an attorney like Jeff Dawson prior to talking with an insurance claims adjustor. He will evaluate your situation and be able to give you a reasonable estimate of the merits of your case.
If it is determined that you have a claim, it will need to be filed with the insurance company of the person or company that injured you.
Once a claim is filed, you will be contacted by an insurance adjustor for the other company. We recommend only talking to the adjustor with an attorney on the call with you. This is because anything you say can and will be used against you.

The Insurance Adjustors job is to settle your claim for the least amount possible.  Many?times they will position themselves that “I’m just trying to help you get this settled”, or “I’m trying to move this case along and get you some money”.
Don’t believe it.

In most situations, they want you to settle for the least amount possible, and the settlement is final.  Time and again, people settle for getting their cars repaired, and some compensation for lost time from work, thinking they are getting a “fair” deal.  You have to understand that you really don’t know the extent of your injuries or what long term effect this will have on your life.  There are countless examples of people settling their cases, only to have the problems from the injury come back later with NO RECOURSE.

Evaluation of your injury, and the possible long term effects of that injury are part of the work that a competent attorney will do for you.
